With the addition of a handful of new and useful features, the iOS 16 is finally announced. And as compared to the predecessor, iOS 15, the new iOS version has further extended the already available features. For instance, the ability to copy text from images is now also available for videos. The iPhones and iPad running the new iOS 16/iPadOS 16 will allows their users to copy text and codes from the videos as well. This is going to be a real game-changer, especially for students as they would now be able to simply copy-paste the notes and important things right from the video.
If you are also looking forwards to using this feature on your iPhone or iPad that is running the new iOS 16, then here is the complete step-by-step process that you need to follow in order to copy the text and codes from the video files.

Copy text and codes from video on iPhone
The process to copy text from a video is as simple as it was with the image previously. Here is a detailed look at the process.
Step 1: The first step is obviously the requirement of the video content from where you want to copy the text. Hence open the app where you have that video content e.g Photos app and play the video.
Note: At the time of writing this guide, only the Apple apps are supported for copying the text from the video. I’ll be updating the guide if this support extends to more 3rd-party apps like YouTube.
Step 2: In the video, navigate to the part from where you want to copy the text and pause it there.
Step 3: After pausing the video, double-tap and hold your touch on the screen where the text is located in the video. This will result in two blue markers appearing on the screen which can use to select the text that you want to copy by moving back and forth as per the requirement.
Step 4: After selecting the text by using the marker, as soon as you will remove the finger from the screen, an overflow menu will appear. Tap on the Copy option to copy the selected text.
Step 5: After tapping on the copy option, your selected text has been copied to the clipboard and you can paste it anywhere you want e.g. the Notes app. Simply long-press on the empty area and select the Paste option to paste the copied text from the video.
And that’s it. You have successfully copied text from a video on your iPhone.
Bottom Line
So this was the step-by-step tutorial on how you can easily copy the text from a video on your iPhone running the iOS 16. The feature is really handy and time-saving, especially for students and coders who are needed to do things efficiently to reach the set goals. I hope this guide would have helped you by teaching you something new about your iPhone. Where are you using this feature in your iPhone? Let me know in the comments below.
