How to fix if Airpods are Connected But there is no Sound
1. Reset the AirPods
Resetting the Airpods is one of the primary things to do when encountering any connection-related issue. In this case, where the Airpods are connected but are not delivering any sound output, this can be an issue of the connectivity. Hence resetting the Airpods can help.
1. Disconnect the AirPods from your Apple device by putting them in the case and closing the lid.
2. Open the lid after about 30 seconds.
3. Go into your Apple device. Open Settings, tap on Bluetooth and select the info icon located next to the AirPods.
4. Tap on Forget This Device and confirm the selection by tapping on the same option in the popup.
5. Press and hold the setup button on your AirPods case located at the back for about 15 seconds. Its light will flash White and then Amber. This indicated that you have successfully reset your AirPods.
6. Now, re-pair your AirPods to your Apple device by following the on-screen steps.

2. Disable/Enable Automatic Ear Detection
Sometimes the Automatic ear Deception can make the whole AirPods experience a mess. And there is no surprise that it can also cause the unusual no-sound issue. But the good thing is, Apple allows its users to enable or disable them based on their preferences.
You can try disabling and then enabling the Automatic Ear Detection to make sure the feature is working properly. To do so:
1. Open Settings on your Apple device and go to Bluetooth.
2. Tap on the info icon next to the name of your AirPods.
3. Toggle off the Automatic Ear Detection.
3. Turn off the Volume Limit
Apple provides an additional setting on iOS devices that lets the users set the system-wide volume limit. This set volume overrides all the sound settings of the out apps like Apple Music.
And if you have set the Volume Limit too low to hear, this can be the root cause of the problem. You can check it by disabling the Volume Limit. To do so:
1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Music.
3. Toggle the Volume Limit switch to off.
4. Update the Software
Outdated or old software can cause the incompatibility issues like the one we are discussing here. Hence in order to keep software incompatibility away, make sure that your Apple devices are running on the latest updates rolled out by Apple. Be it iPad, iPhone, or Mac, make sure that they are running on the latest version with no pending software updates being there.
You can go to Settings > General > Software Update to look for pending updates on iPhone and iPad. and in Mac, click on the Apple menu in the top left corner, select About This Mac, and click on Software Update.
