How to Disable Soundboard in Discord
There is no single toggle to disable Soundboard audio in your Discord app. However, there are a couple of workarounds that you can try to reduce the Soundboard audio and its usage to the bare minimum.
1. Turn off the Soundboard Volume
You can set the Soundboard volume of your Discord to absolute zero. This will make sure that no sound from the Soundboard can interfere with your Discord activities.
To reduce the Soundboard volume:
1. Open the Discord app and go to User Settings by clicking on the gear icon.
2. Switch to the Voice & Video tab from the left pane and go to the Soundboard Volume option.
3. Finally, drag the slider and set the Volume to 0%.
2. Remove unwanted sounds from the Soundboard
If you are tired of hearing annoying sounds on your Discord servers and don’t want them to be played, then you can remove them from your server’s Soundboard.
1. Open Discord and go to your Discord Server settings.
2. Open Soundboard and remove the unwanted sounds by clicking on the cross (x) associated with them.
3. Restrict users from using Sounds from Soundboard
You can pose restrictions on the “Roles” level to let them or not let them use the Soundboard audios.
1. Open Discord and go to your Discord Server settings.
2. Click on the Roles tab from the left pane and select the role for which you want to pose Soundboard restrictions.
3. Finally, toggle off the switch for the Use Soundboard option.
4. Restrict users from uploading Sounds in Soundboard
You should also make sure to restrict the permissions of uploading sound in the Soundboard to ensure that there is no unwanted sound present.
1. Open Discord and go to your Discord Server settings.
2. Click on the Roles tab from the left pane and select the role for which you want to pose Soundboard restrictions.
3. Finally, toggle off the switch for the Manage Expressions option.
