Method 1: Using Widget Panel

Windows 11 comes with a widget panel and that can be used directly to remove the Weather widget. Here are the steps:

  • First, open the Widget panel by pressing the Win + W on your keyboard.
  • In the widget panel, click on the three dots of the weather widget card.
  • Now, from the list, click on the Remove widget option.

Method 2: Using Windows Settings

You can also use the Windows settings to remove the weather widget. Actually, Windows 11 comes with a feature to enable or disable the widgets of the taskbar completely. Disabling it also disables the Weather widget. Here’re the steps to disable the taskbar widgets in Windows 11.

  • Press Win + I on your keybaord to open Windows Settings.
  • Go to Personalization > Taskbar.

  • Now, execute the command: winget uninstall “windows web experience pack” and press Y to confirm the execution.

How to Remove Weather Widget from Taskbar in Windows 10

Method 1: From Taskbar

Windows 10 provides the facility to remove the Weather widget from the Taskbar directly by right-clicking on it. Here’s the exact process.

  • Right-click on the Taskbar to open the list of options.
  • From the options click on News and interests.
  • From the next list of options, select the Trun off option to disable the News and interests widget that will also include the Weather widgets as well.

Method 2: Using Widget Panel

You can use the Widget panel of the Windows 10 remove the Weather widget from there.

  • Click on the News and weather widget by clicking on it in the Taskbar.
  • From the widget cards, click on the three-dot button of the Weather card and select the Hide Card option.

  • Open Run dialog box by pressing Win + R on the keyboard.
  • Type-in regedit and press OK open the Registry Editor on your PC.

  • Now, double-click on ShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode and set its Data value to 2.

Method 4: Using Group Policy Editor

Windows Group Policy Editor can also be used to disable the weather widget on Windows 10 and here’s how to do it.

  • Search and open the Group Policy Editor.
  • In the Local Group Policy Editor window, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Component > News and interests.
  • Now, double-click on the Enable News and interests on the taskbar option and select Disable.
  • Apply the changes and restart your PC.
