How to Setup eSIM on iPhone 14 and 14 Pro

While setting up an eSIM can be a hassle for some users, it is more secure and also offers better flexibility to switch or activate b/w different cellular plans. And even if it is a bit of a hassle, it is a one-time process for a device anyways. So, no big deal I guess.

Step 1: The process begins with the settings app. So open the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Here, tap on the Cellular option.

Step 3: On the Cellular settings page, tap on the Add Cellular Plan option.

Step 4: now, enter the mobile number of the SIM that you want to set up as an eSIM on your device.

Step 5: You will now be greeted with an alert asking for the confirmation if you want to transfer your number to your new iPhone 14. This confirmation will popup on your older phone where you were using the eSIM previously.

Step 6: Once the confirmation is done, the eSIM transfer process will initiate and once its done, tap on the Finish Setting Up Your Carrier’s Cellular Plan option.

It is worth nothing that the above process is applicable if you are already using an eSIM on your older iPhone. If you don’t have an eSIM, then you’ll first have to convert your physical SIM into an eSIM. The process for this may varry from carrier to carrier and I would advice you to contact the customer care of your respective carrier in this regard.
